Forrás Hungarian Folk Dance Ensemble is a volunteer dance group based in Vancouver, BC. Forrás has benefitted from a wide variety of instructors, both locally and visiting from overseas. Our instructors’ combined years of experience and diversity continues to help us build on our repertoire of Hungarian dances both from within modern day Hungary and surrounding areas.
Every member of Forrás shares a love of our dances, Hungarian and eastern European folk culture. While our members have varying levels of dance experience, our aim is to improve ourselves individually and more importantly elevate our ability as an ensemble.
Forrás includes dancers of different generations with Hungarian ancestry, those new to Canada and others who are simply interested in Hungarian music, dance and culture. We always welcome new dancers and those interested in pursuing and learning about our culture. Forrás is led by instructors Andrew (Andy) Merai and Sieglinde (Siegi) Molnar and is guided by a board of directors.
Forrás is registered as a society in good standing with the province of British Columbia.
